Casual, Yet Classy

Flats are a style of shoe that should be required for every girl to own at least one pair. They go with anything, from skinny jeans to skirts. Obviously, this post is aimed toward girls. But guys should feel free to read on! :) Flats are so light and comfortable.  I recently bought a new pair that I believe are super casual, but can also work for some nice occasion. I got a gray pair of Rock & Candy by Zigi Soho. They have lace-like fabric, which is what I believe makes them acceptable for formal-ish occasions.  They are very comfortable, but like all shoes, they feel better when worn with socks. Of course no one should ever wear normal socks with flats, so I HIGHLY recommend getting a pair of super low-cut "no show" socks. These shoes are awesome, comfortable, stylish, and perfect for every girl to have in her closet.

CHECK IT OUT

Remember PF Flyers? The shoes that were most popular in the 50's and 60's, that made you run faster and jump higher? They became most popular in modern pop culture from the movie The Sandlot.  They kind of died down from the 70's-90's, but are now making a comeback.  Most of them look like Chucks, but PF Flyers are more comfortable than Converse, in my opinion.  PF stands for posture foundation, so obviously they are very comfortable and reduce leg strain by evenly distributing weight. My dad was a huge fan of these shoes "back in the day". He was a farm kid that was always running around, and he said these shoes were very durable and comfortable, and overall a great shoe for a busy kid.  I don't think you would necessarily have a retro style just to wear these today. I think anyone should wear them, no matter what your style!

The Ultimate Party Shoe!

Spring is here! Which means that summer is almost here! We all need to prepare for summer, which means it's time to start investing in some new summer kicks.  Flippy floppies are bad for your feet! But there is a brand that is actually good for your feet! This brand would be Reef.  Their sandals have a compression molded footbed which is great for arches, a heel airbag for extra cushioning, and my favorite part, they have a bottle opener on the soles!!! Which is why I call them the perfect party shoe. For Coca-Cola bottles, of course. Reef sandals are insanely durable! I bought my first pair my freshman year of high school, and they lasted all the way until my senior year. Really, the only reason I got rid of them was because they just looked old, but the comfort was still there.  Ever since I bought a pair, I got my whole family hooked to them. They are by far the comfiest summer shoes!

They're not shoes, they're sandals!

So now we're witnessing the infamous bipolar North Dakota weather.  Most people want the snow to go away!  If you're ready to bust out the sandals, but don't want to because it's too cold, you should definately check out Sanuk shoes.  They make sandals and shoes that cover your whole foot like normal shoes, but their motto is "They're not sandals, they're shoes!" because of the comfort and they feel like you're wearing sandals because they are super light weight.  I have a pair of Sanuks, and they are one of the comfiest pairs of "sandals" I have ever worn in my life.  Of course you can wear socks with them, but it's not needed.  I never wear socks when I wear them. 

The word "sanuk" means "fun" in Thai.  The outsoles are made from recycled tires and most of the shoe is made from hemp for most of the Sanuk styles.  When you purchase a pair, instead of coming in a box, they come in a bag that is biodegradable and made of mostly corn.  I would definately recommend a pair of Sanuks to anyone that walks a lot, or someone who just wants comfy shoes, or uh, sandals!

Bright Colors!

I freaking love bright colors. I love people that wear bright colors. I have a lot of bright colored clothes and shoes. I would say that my favorite pair of crazy bright shoes would be my hot pink Nike Dunk Low shoes. I love Nike 6.0 and regular Nike's. Every time I wear these shoes, people always stare at my feet. Always. I have heard sneer comments whispered, such as "WTF those are insanely ugly because they are so bright" or not so bad comments such as "Those are super bright". One time at Target I walked past a man that was staring at my feet and he turned to whisper to the woman he was with "It's just not right". But I don't care what people think! If you are like me and love not only looks but comfort as well, and do not care if people stare, then you ought to try out these kicks. These are breathable and very durable. My roomie steals them from me all the time, that's how awesome they are!

Organic Shoes?!

Have you ever heard of shoes that are organic or vegan? Well, look up Macbeth Footwear! Founded by Blink-182 memers Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus, Macbeth is a great brand to wear for skateboarders, and just for anyone at all.  As I mentioned, they are made from vegan and organic material.  Macbeth shoes are super comfy! I actually have three pairs myself. Like I stated earlier, they are made of vegan and organic material. Since I work at a shoe store, I always recommend these to whoever walks in! And, as a matter of fact, my personal statistics happen to have a large number of Macbeth's sold!  Every time someone tries a pair of Macbeth's on, they always mention how comfy they are. So overall, everyone should try on a pair at least once in their life! 

Comfy, AND stylish? I think yes.

VANS FOR HUNTERS?!

If any of you know me personally, then you would know that I may be the world's biggest Vans freak.  No, not a car. The brand Vans.  Vans shoes originated in the 60s, and now are even more super awesome. They also have several things, such as clothing and bags, and Vans even sponsors snowboarders and skateboarders! Several people wear Vans today, and when I talk to people about their Vans, they tell me that they love wearing them all the time because they are very comfortable and amazingly stylish! I was recently visiting Journeys (what's new) and spent a lot of time looking at the Vans wall.  My eyes were automatically attracted to one pair of Vans. I'm pretty sure it was because of the color that made me stare at them.  They were fluorescent orange!  Like the color people wear to go hunting!  I think they would be perfect for hunters, not only because of the bright color, but because Vans are super comfy.  Which is one main reason why I wear them myself.  Another reason being that Vans are super trendy and cute and match any outfit! So hunters would look stylish while out in the fields, which would be super awesome.  Of course style is always an important thing, but typically comfort is more important because, after all, you will be wearing these shoes all day.  And hunters especially are standing most of the time!  So, I would definately recommend these bright orange Vans to anyone, hunter or not! Well, I would recommend any style of Vans to anyone...

Sandals!

So one of my cousins sent me a link that was a pair of sandals that she wanted, so I thought I'd be nice and get them for her. I had to order them, because the store didn't carry them. They just came in yesterday, and when I looked at them, I knew she would love them! The style is called Agency, and Nadara is the brand that makes them. They are black and have the ankle cuff. Reviews say they are comfortable and durable, and there were no cons in the reviews! They are are a very "chic" type of dressy sandal. Recommended for every girly girl!

NEW SHOES

So yesterday I bought a new pair of shoes!! They are DC. The brand, not the capital. Obviously. They are black and light-ish blue. Super cute!! But I haven't broken them in yet so my feet are hurting a little bit =( I got them at Journey's..of course. DC is a skateboard/snowboard brand, and specialize in skate shoes. The name of the ones I got is called Pure. These are excellent for skateboarders, which I am not, but they are just super stylish!
